{"id":836,"date":"2010-06-25T12:27:43","date_gmt":"2010-06-25T12:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/stories.daddytales.com\/?p=836"},"modified":"2010-06-25T12:27:43","modified_gmt":"2010-06-25T12:27:43","slug":"my-bad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pat-matthews.com\/stories\/2010\/06\/25\/my-bad\/","title":{"rendered":"My Bad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A little while back, my wife and I were joking around and I pulled out the old &#8220;aren&#8217;t you supposed to obey your husband&#8221; line.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, my kids were there.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Why did he say you should obey him?&#8221; my oldest asked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yeah,&#8221; his little brother chimed in, &#8220;and what does obey mean?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Some<\/em> people,&#8221; I said, &#8220;think that wives are supposed to do what their husbands say.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But not us,&#8221; my wife said.<\/p>\n<p>The little guy nodded emphatically. &#8220;Yeah,&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0he said, pointing at me, &#8220;cause you have to do what she says.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sigh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There was a time when a line like this one would have just gotten me an exasperated eye roll.
