You may remember the part of the trip that I mentioned before. Well, something else happened there, which has had an ongoing affect. I’ve been waiting until this resolved itself before writing about it, but now I’m not sure it will, so I’m going to go ahead and tell the tale now.

The "Living Seas" exhibit at Epcot is a massive indoor aquarium complex. It has giant fish tanks, children’s activities, a small playground area, and a show called "Turtle Talk With Crush", featuring the surfer Sea Turtle from Finding Nemo.

Turtle Talk with Crush is an amazing show. The kids sit in the front and the video of Crush actually interacts with the kids – asking them questions and responding to their answers. He calls them "Dude!" and says surfer things like "Schaaa!" C loved it.

He also loved the dolphin show.

It goes without saying, of course, that the dolphins were real and that Crush was not. However, Crush was extremely realistic, and after we left the Living Seas, as C was excitedly trying to talk about everything we’d seen, he got mixed up.

"And then, and then, and then the Dolphin, he said ‘Dude’!"

I laughed. "No. The dolphin didn’t say dude. Turtles say dude!"

He thought about this for a moment or two. In case you don’t know, we have a turtle in a small pond in front of our house. We frequently see and sometimes even feed the turtle, and I think the little guy must have flashed back to that turtle.

He looked at me like I’d lost my head. "No, turtles don’t say dude! Dolphins say dude!"

Ever since then, whenever we see a dolphin or a turtle (or the topic comes up), he either points out that dolphins say "dude" or reminds me that turtles do not.

Needless to say, I’ve been holding firm to my position: turtles clearly say "dude" and dolphins do not.

As I said at the start, I’m not sure where this particular tale is headed, but I thought it was worth sharing. If one of us actually wins this ongoing argument, I’ll be sure to let you know!

A few months back, I took C & N to Epcot while J was at work.
