I think he was just stalling, trying to delay going to bed, but it seemed a reasonable question. \u201cBecause it\u2019s Jesus\u2019s birthday,\u201d I answered, \u201cand-\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI know, I know!\u201d the 7-year old interrupted. \u201cWe give presents because the wise men did.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, they gave Frankenstein to the baby Jesus and he loved it so much\u2026\u201d He trailed off at my expression.<\/p>\n
I raised my hands in the classic Frankenstein pose. \u201cRarr! Jesus! Rarr!\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDa-addy,\u201d he shouted. \u201cIt was a toy<\/em> Frankenstein!\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEither that,\u201d\u00a0I said. \u201cOr we give them to celebrate his birthday. He wanted us to love one another.
