A few days back, as we were walking around the Flower and Garden show at Epcot, my six year old made an announcement. “Daddy,” he said. “I’d like to visit Lost Vegas.”<\/p>\n
This wasn’t a complete shock. We had seen the movie Bolt<\/em> not too long ago, and part of it takes place in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n “It’s called Las Vegas,” I said.<\/p>\n He doesn’t like being corrected. “That’s what I said,” he gestured with his hands. “Lost Vegas!”<\/p>\n “No, no. There’s no T on the end. It’s Las Vegas.”<\/p>\n “I know,” he shouted. “Lost Vegas.”<\/p>\n I stopped. “Hey, don’t get upset. I’m just letting you know there’s no T, that’s all.”<\/p>\n “I didn’t put a T on it,” he said, completely frustrated. “I didn’t say Lost Vegast.” He emphasized the ending T. “I said Lost Vegassss. See? No T!” <\/p>\n I realized the mistake I’d been making, of course. He was right: he hadn’t put a T on the end. Unfortunately, all I could do was laugh.<\/p>\n He growled and stomped the sidewalk.<\/p>\n “Not on either word,” his mom said. “It’s Lasssss Vegassss. See? No T’s at all.”<\/p>\n He started to object, but stopped himself. Then he started laughing.
