I had a major blow up with C today. He was being bad with a capital B and I finally ended up sending him to his room. For us, that’s the ultimate punishment. It doesn’t get any worse. I’ve only done it two or three times before.<\/p>\n
After he went into the room, however, he started loudly mouthing off in ways that just aren’t allowed. I walked quickly over to his bedroom door and shoved it open to confront him.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, he was standing right on the other side of the door. When I shoved it open to make my dramatic entrance, the handle caught him right in the eye and knocked him over backwards.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, I was horrified. I checked to make sure he was okay, got some ice, apologized… the whole nine yards. The bridge of his nose was cut and his eye was swollen, but there was no real damage. Thank goodness.<\/p>\n
No real damage to him, that is. I, however, am taking a major pounding. <\/p>\n
We’ve already had two neighbors notice his black eye and ask him what happened. His answer? “Daddy hit me with the door.”<\/p>\n
Wonderful.<\/p>\n
Guess what tomorrow is? The first day of school. He’s going to have one heck of a black eye for his first day of school. <\/p>\n
