As I’ve mentioned before, N generally goes to bed without any problems at all. In fact, the routine is so easy that I’m starting to get a little bored with it. It’s not that I’m looking for a fight, mind you – just something a little more interesting.<\/p>\n
The other night I decided to try to add a new wrinkle.<\/p>\n
As I was carrying him to bed, I said in my most encouraging voice, “Do you know what it’s time for?”<\/p>\n
He looked at me, puzzled, so I repeated myself. “Do you? Do you know what it’s time for?”<\/p>\n
After another brief considering look, he smiled his biggest open-mouthed grin. “Chocolate!”<\/p>\n
“What? Um – “<\/p>\n
“Chocolate!”<\/p>\n
“No, bed.”<\/p>\n
“CHOCOLATE!”<\/p>\n
“No, silly. It’s dark out. It’s time for bed.”<\/p>\n
“H’ray, chocolate!”<\/p>\n
Sigh.<\/p>\n
