The first doctor advised PT, but that didn&#8217;t help much. The second doctor recommended surgery.\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 13px;\">The third doc went over the X-rays with her and showed her why surgery wouldn&#8217;t help. The best course of action, she said, is to give the knee three months to heal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We told the kids at dinner the other day.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Good news and bad news,&#8221; I said. &#8220;The good news is no surgery. The bad news is she has to stay off it for three months.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Wow,&#8221; my oldest son said to her. &#8220;Aren&#8217;t you going to be fat and happy!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll let you imagine the rest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are some lines that are just too good to pass up.
