I couldn’t resist the opening. Flashing him a crooked smile, I asked “Can I bring my wife?”<\/p>\n
He chuckled. “No. You can’t bring your wife. You can’t bring your girlfriend, either.”<\/p>\n
There was a pause while I considered how to answer.<\/p>\n
“Um,” I said at last. “I don’t actually have both.”<\/p>\n
